St. Nicholas of Myra was an early Christian bishop from Patara in Anatoia (modern day Turkey) during the Roman Emprire. This icon represents St. Nicholas, traditionally vested in the omophorion (cloth worn about the neck and shoulders) and holding a Gospel Book.
